The Cancer Society of The Bahamas is a non-profit, voluntary, charitable organization, that continues daily to meet its goal; “To educate the public about cancer so that it may be prevented, diagnosed and treated in the early stages, to be of service to cancer patients and their families and to raise funds to support its programs”.
This awareness run/walk is to continue sending the message to the public that there is Life, Hope, Love, Caring and Unity after being diagnosed with cancer and to encourage the general public to adopt healthier lifestyles.

Geriatric Hospital Push/Walkathon
Healthy ageing awareness is vital to the social, mental and physical health of our growing geriatric population. Bahamas Medical sponsored the 2nd annual Push/Walkathon hosted by Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre and the Geriatrics Hospital.
The event was held on Saturday April 20, 2013 under the theme, ’Successful Aging’. Proceeds from this year’s event will be used towards the purchase of a much needed wheelchair bus that would assist with transportation of their chronically disabled patients to various occupational and recreational activities.
